Shorten trousers with hemming tape

Make a neat no-sew hem with fusible tape suited to the fabric.

Repair steps

  1. Step 1

    Check the garment care label and tape instructions; do not use heat on fabric that cannot be ironed.

  2. Step 2

    Try the trousers on with the shoes you plan to wear, mark the length, then fold and press an even hem.

  3. Step 3

    Place the fusible tape inside the fold and press with a cloth at the temperature and time specified on its packet.

  4. Step 4

    Let the hem cool fully before testing it. Repress only as the tape instructions allow.
